Today I read from, “The War of Art”. It’s a short read with some powerful lessons for all of us. But especially for those who practice and/or work in the creative world.
Here are 3 cool things I took from this book today:
1) I was reading a section called “The Magic of Making a Start”. In this section the author talks about how when we conceive something in our minds and commit to it despite our fears, something wonderful happens. It’s as if we cracked the shell of an egg from the inside.
2) Of course the next section was appropriately called, “The Magic of Keeping Going” (which sounds a little off to me but I get when he’s trying to say!) In here he talks about how we have a natural ability to self-revise and self-correct and that chaos itself is self-organizing. I LOVED that! I always feel like I’m in the midst of chaos. I never thought about the fact that it might be self-organizing. =)
3) And the last thing that I loved was this…You’re supposed to learn that the things you think are nothing, as weightless as air, are actually powerful substantial forces, as real and as solid as earth. ‘

It’s amazing the things you can read in 10 minutes.
